An extract from 'The Dancing Years'  programme of 1958.

In 1908, just 50 years ago, a small band of ladies and gentlemen in Cradley Heath and district, who loved music and the theatre, joined forces to form an Operatic Society. They had no funds behind them, but they had unbound enthusiasm for the stage and a desire to provide much needed public entertainment. Thus was born the CRADLEY HEATH, OLD HILL & DISTRICT AMATEUR OPERATIC SOCIETY.
